Kanha Tiger Reserve is truly a treat for every wildlife and Nature lover. Rudyard Kipling’s famous novel “The Jungle Book” real life inspiration is Kanha forest, this lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines where the drama and adventure never stops. The Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under Project Tiger. This is the largest National Park in central India with core area of 940 km2 & 1,067 km2 Buffer zone and top 10 famous tourist destinations for jungle lovers.The park offers with significant population of the Wild cats family like Royal Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopards; other species like Sloth Bear, Barasingha, Indian wild Dog, Indian Wolf; 300 species of birds and the most commonly seen wild birds; Nocturnal animals like Fox, Hyena, Jungle Cat, Civets,Reptiles such as Indian Pythons, Indian Cobras, Krait, Rat Snakes, Vipers and many species of turtles and amphibians are found in or near the water bodies. Kanha Tiger Reserve is home to over 1000 species of flowering plants that enhance the beauty of this forest.
